The Taoist Basic Precept

Prior to birth each of us created a unique, divine contract with the heavens to fulfill a certain destiny here on Earth that strives to cultivate our soul’s virtues. This Heavenly energy is considered our yang energy. Theoretically, this essence is believed to be located in our right kidney as well as our hearts. Each individual also has a choice as to whether or not to fulfill their divine destiny. This choice is clouded by the challenging survival needs we face here on earth. Our ability to sustain ourselves in this world depends on the quality of our earthly energies which are reflected in our emotions. The Taoists refer to this as yin energy and it is stored in the left kidney. The blending of the yin and yang energy is found in the mingmen, otherwise known as the Dan Tien, hara or core of our being. This is located a few inches below our naval. The qualities of these two energies, the heaven and earth energy, is what makes us a uniquely human being. In addition, negative emotional states are believed to be situated in certain organs of the human body. With energy work, these emotional states can be transformed into the virtues we are destined to cultivate. The heart is considered the master organ. When the heavenly heart energy and mingmen are in alignment it is believed that we then have the ability to clearly see our life purpose and to manifest or fulfill our destiny. This can take place at any time of a person’s life from birth to the time of death.

Energies of the Light, Shamanism and Spiritual Healing

Reiki has been called Universal Life Energy, Qi and Spiritual Energy to name of few. In my years of exploring Reiki and its origins, I have come to understand that Reiki is a vital healing modality that blends peacefully, yet powerfully with other forms of healing. The Sirius energy is similar to Reiki, but is considered a stronger form of energy. The goal of spiritual healing is to restore an individual’s vitality and life force as well as to enhance their connection and sense of belonging here on earth. Spiritual healing is not a religion. In fact, it is important for me to honor the religious background of each of my clients in order to establish a healing relationship.

With that said, however, I do draw from the Taoist philosophy when working with the Reiki and Sirius energies. Through my extensive research, I believe that Reiki actually originated from the Taoist tradition of what is known as five element theory. This theory is also the foundation of Qi-Gong, Martial Arts and Acupuncture.

In my work, I believe that when illness or negative situations are present in one’s life, it is a calling or opportunity for one to initiate their spiritual work and healing. When working with the Reiki and Sirius energies, it is my mission to align the heart and mingmen in order for my clients to clearly see their life purpose and destiny. The energy work also enables my clients to identify their emotions through actual feeling so that they can recognize how their own emotions influence their health and well-being.

Shamanic soul retrievals and journey work is also an integral part of my services. Shamanic work is done in a dream-type state and is believed to accelerate the healing process by bringing back individual’s vital life force or soul parts that are said to leave when one experiences trauma, chronic depression, addiction, grief and other forms of loss. Clients typically comment that this work accelerates their healing. This work is an excellent compliment to therapy because it promotes bringing about insight and change at a faster pace than by simply doing talk or other forms of therapy alone.

While I am considered a spiritual counselor, I draw from my professional social work training to counsel individuals to bring deeper meaning into our work. I focus on individual’s dream material because I believe this is where a great deal of healing information is stored. In undertaking this spiritual work, it is my goal to further teach my clients to have deeper understanding of energy healing as well as providing effective techniques that empower individuals to manage their own healing, and to, ultimately, trust in one’s own intuition and ability to live a joyful and fulfilled life.
