Sara Burns has been a Reiki Master for over ten years. She holds a Masters degree in Social Work. Her educational emphasis included issues of various forms of abuse, trauma and Post-Traumatic Syndrome. Sara also draws from her formal counseling training to provide caring, practical guidance in her healing work. Previous to Sara receiving her Masters degree, she was a nurse. She further obtained the 4 levels of Sirius Star empowerments and the ability to perform energetic extractions by Allen Duerrstein, Ph.D. Through the years, Sara has studied and trained in various healing techniques including Shamanism, Jin Shin Jyutsu and other forms of healing from Celtic and Eastern traditions. She has worked with people with AIDS, Hepatitis C, various forms of cancer, people who have experienced trauma in the form of domestic violence, rape, childhood sexual abuse and war. age of 27 which began the transformation of her spiritual life. The gift of the near death experience allowed her to vividly experience other dimensions of existence and time which resulted in her acquiring empathic abilities. Sara views her previous illnesses as a gift for she gained valuable insight and wisdom regarding the recovery process which enables her to provide compassionate understanding in her healing work. 
In Spring of 1995, Sara received her level one Reiki empowerment by the Reiki Master, Diana Acuna. At the time, Sara was unaware of the impact the Reiki one empowerment would have on her life. For weeks, heat poured off of her hip areas where she had had multiple surgeries in the past. Sara soon recognized that the Reiki aided her in managing pain without the need of medication. She also began to recognize that she was better able to manage her empathic abilities by disconnecting from other peoples energy patterns quickly after performing healing work.
